About Us
At Wild Minds, our journey began with a deep-rooted passion for the great outdoors and a profound belief in the transformative power of nature.
Our Philosophy:
Wild Minds, guided by our experienced facilitators, blends nature and experiential approaches for personal and organizational growth. We unite the natural world, experiential exploration, and therapeutic practices, to foster thriving individuals and teams.
Our Process:
Every person and every team is different and it’s important to us to understand your unique needs and hopes for working together. Wild Minds regularly evaluates our own approaches, interventions, and styles or work.
We offer a free consultation meeting to explore if our offerings are a good fit. Contact us to start a conversation.
Vanessa believes that connection – to ourselves, to one another, and to nature – is the foundation of well-being. She is so pleased to work with Wild Minds to help clients enhance these connections utilizing the canvasses of nature and experience. As Wild Minds’ resident nerd, Vanessa is constantly looking for ways to make our programming more engaging and impactful by combining counselling theory with experiential practice and play.
Vanessa graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology in 2013 and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Approved Clinical Supervisor through the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. She has been providing counselling services in the Elk Valley since 2007, including a great deal of experiential work. You are apt to find Vanessa enjoying her free time outdoors on a good bike ride, dog walk, or tending to her bees.
Gareth has been facilitating experiential activity-based programming for over ten years. Whether taking groups of youth through nature and activity-based activities, facilitating team building experiences with teams of adults, or through helping individuals connect to the lessons of nature as a component of their healing, Gareth is a firm believer in the power of learning by doing. Gareth is happiest when he is playing on the trails, in the snow, or on the water, with his family and friends. Mountain living is a gift for the experiential mind, and one Gareth is especially grateful for.
Gareth has a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. Gareth has completed courses in Nature-Based Therapy and a training as an Experiential Facilitator.
